Meek Trunk and Bag Company Building
The A.E. Meek Trunk and Bag Company Building was built in 1896 to house the retail function for the company, which was founded in 1876. The firm manufactured their products at a factory on the 2400 block of Curtis Street. The Meek Company sold the building in 2002 and, after several years of vacancy, the building received a needed restoration in 2016 and is now occupied by a clothing retailer. The two-story blond-brick building sits between two modern buildings and provides important cohesion to the block’s urban fabric.
