Quick update on some utility relocation efforts going on near downtown. Crews started a major utlity relocation effort behind Coors Field on Monday, moving fiber optic cable within the right-of-way to allow for RTD’s construction efforts to progress. To view the pictures, click here (Flash is required). This fiber optic relocation effort is a major step forward for the project and represents one of the largest utilities needed to be moved. A major East Corridor update is coming in a future DenverUrbanism blog post.
Major utility relocation efforts will continue in earnest for the rest of the year as major water, electrical, sewer, cable, and other utilities make room for RTD. This is all simply a precursor of what is to come – a direct line from downtown to DIA. For a good summary video of the East Corridor, check out this video.
Additionally, RTD has created a virtual tour of the corridor for people to become familiar with the different components of a very complex project. You can take a look at the different components online, or print it out and drive the corridor yourself! Check out the tour here.
Do any of the other routes have a link like that?
Great news! Thanks Ryan.
I just found this in Denver Real Estate News about a TOD:
